The Brampton 45's eliminated the Halton Hills Thunder last night with a 3-2 win at Earnscliffe. Brampton scored once in the first then once in the second to take a 2-0 lead to the second intermission. The Thunder managed to score early in the third when Matthew Ormond scored on the powerplay from Dylan Sargent. After Brampton restored its two goal lead the thunder once again cut the lead to one as Nick Molinaro scored from Conor Fisken. That was as close as Halton Hills could get as time ran out.

Congratulations to the Brampton 45's and good luck in the Semi Final.

The Sunny Acre Farms Midgets find themselves facing elimination after losing game 2, 3-1 last night at MoldMaster. For the second straight game the 45's got off to a quick start scoring a powerplay goal early in the first period. Brampton later got a breakaway chance and scored on a perfect shot just under the glove on Thunder goalie Zach Moulton. Before the end of the period, Halton Hills got on the board when Gareth Marks deflected a Jeff Brown pointshot to make it a one goal game after one.
The Thunder had the majority of the chances in the second, crossbar, couple posts... but were unable to tie the game. After just missing on a scoring chance, Brampton got their second breakaway and made no mistake, capitalizing on the chance the Brampton

The Sunny Acre Farms Midgets started the OMHA quarter final  last night in Brampton. After falling behind 1-0 early in the first period Mackenzie Chalmers beat the Brampton defence at the blueline and went in on a 2 on 1 with Nick Molinaro, after receiving the Pass Molinaro's shot was stopped by the Brampton Goaltender but Chase Pries went hard to the net and buried the rebound to tie the game at 1-1.
The second period went scoreless as both goalies came up big when called upon until the 45's got the eventual game winner with 1:06 to play in the third. The two teams go back at it on Thursday night 9:00 pm on Pad D.

Thunder foreward Chase Pries scored a powerplay goal from Mat Hodgins and Conor Fisken last night at Alcott to earn the Thunder a 2-1 win over Caledon. The win keeps The Sunny Acre team undefeated in the playoffs as they now wait for their quarter final opponent to be decided between Flamborough and Brampton. Scoring the first goal of the game was Dylan Sargent deflecting a Matthew Ormond Point shot.
Tendy Zach Moulton stopped 24 of 25 Caledon Shots for his fifth straight win.

The Sunny Acre Farms Midgets clinched a birth  the OMHA Quarter Final with a 2-0 win in Niagara Last night. Goaltender Zach Moulton ran his playoff record to 4-0-1, with two shutouts, while lowering his GAA to a miniscule 1.00 with the win.
Halton Hills scored first for the fifth straight game as Nick Molinaro continued to have a hot hand sniping his 5th of the playoffs from Jeff Brown and Matt Ormond.
After taking the lead the Thunder pelted the Niagara net with shots but as in previous games Flyer goaltending kept them in it as the score remained 1-0 at the intermission.
The game threatened to turn ugly just before the break but cooler heads prevailed and the two teams headed to the room to prepare themselves for the third.

Sunny Acre Farms Midgets ran their playoff unbeaten streak to 4 games as they defeated rivals Caledon 3-2 at Alcott last night. The game started out on a positive note as Nick Molinaro continued to have a hot hand scoring his team leading 12th goal of the season and 4th of the playoffs at the midway point of the first period Mackenzie Chalmers and  Mathew Hodgins earning Apples on the goal. At 8:20 of the second Halton Hills went up 2-0 when Chalmers bulged the twine form Molinaro and Chase Pries. The Sunny Acre Farms Midgets headed to Niagara Falls last night for the second game in as many nights against the Flyers. Solid goaltending and going 7 for7 on the penalty kill were key as the Thunder held on for a 3-1 victory. A gritty performance by Thunder assistant captain Chase Pries, who assisted on the insurance goal,  and came up with a key shot block with the game on the line to seal the victory.
After a scoreless first period Mike Kri opened the scoring after receiving a nice pass from Mathew Ormond. Shortly after Tommy Garron gave Halton Hills a two goal lead as he scored his second game winner in as many nights assisted by Jacob Harbinson. Read More
