Novice AA, 2014-2015, AA (Halton Hills Minor Hockey)

Tonight, the Novice AA Thunder presented a cheque for $544.00 to the Georgetown Hospital Foundation as a result of the regular season "FEED YOUR PIGGY" Initiative. After every regular season game the Thunder players fed their pigs a toonie for every win and a loonie for every tie. The regular season ended with 14 wins, 10 losses and 4 ties. The main message to the team was playing as a team wins games and playing as an individual loses games. We hope we never have to use the facilities at the Georgetown Hospital but we count our blessings that it is always there if we ever need it. ​

The Novice AA Thunder travelled to St. Clair Shores, Michigan this weekend to participate in the International Silver Stick Finals. The players played awesome and went undefeated in the round robin with wins over North Bay 5-2, Cleveland 8-1 and tying Georgina 2-2. The boys played hard to the final whistle but came up short in the semi-finals 6-2 to the undefeated Detroit Belle Tire. The boys created memories for a lifetime with great sportsmanship and trading pins with the other 40 Novice teams from across Ontario and the USA. The Novice AA Thunder participated in the Brampton Silver Stick Tournament over the Christmas break and played with heart, perseverance and determination earning them the finalist medal.

After a busy stretch to end the regular season, the Novice AA have three days off to enjoy the holiday season and eat lots of turkey!! Merry Christmas to the Novice AA Thunder families and all the other Thunder Teams! See you at the Silver Stick Tournament on December 27th. GO THUNDER GO!

The Novice AA Thunder were excited to have JR A RAIDERS defenseman Liam Clare join them at their December 17th practice. Liam took the time to help out the AA Thunder defenseman on numerous defensive drills. His advice and instruction paid off as the Thunder defeated the Stoney Creek Warriors 4-3 on December 18th.
