Midgets remain undefeated in playoffs with 3-2 Win!
Sunny Acre Farms Midgets ran their playoff unbeaten streak to 4 games as they defeated rivals Caledon 3-2 at Alcott last night. The game started out on a positive note as Nick Molinaro continued to have a hot hand scoring his team leading 12th goal of the season and 4th of the playoffs at the midway point of the first period Mackenzie Chalmers and Mathew Hodgins earning Apples on the goal. At 8:20 of the second Halton Hills went up 2-0 when Chalmers bulged the twine form Molinaro and Chase Pries. Heading to the third period with a two goal lead the Thunder found themselves in penalty trouble and despite killing off a brief 5 0n 3, Caledon scored as the penalty ended to make it a one goal game
The goal gave Caledon some life as their OMHA playoff life was on the line, Zach Moulton stood tall until Tommy Garron restored the two goal lead deflecting in a point shot from Hodgins and Jeff Brown. The goal was Garron's third game winner of the Post season. Never giving up Caledon scored with six minutes to play to make it close but could not get the equalizer. Pries had another key shotblock in the final minute and Halton Hills held on for the 3-2 win.
The Thunder are back at it tomorrow night as they travel to Niagara Falls for the third Tuesday in a row for a 7:00 pm. game with the Flyers.
