Thunder Penalty kill perfect in 3-1 Win!
The Sunny Acre Farms Midgets headed to Niagara Falls last night for the second game in as many nights against the Flyers. Solid goaltending and going 7 for7 on the penalty kill were key as the Thunder held on for a 3-1 victory. A gritty performance by Thunder assistant captain Chase Pries, who assisted on the insurance goal,  and came up with a key shot block with the game on the line to seal the victory.
After a scoreless first period Mike Kri opened the scoring after receiving a nice pass from Mathew Ormond. Shortly after Tommy Garron gave Halton Hills a two goal lead as he scored his second game winner in as many nights assisted by Jacob Harbinson.

Before the end of the second Niagara cut the lead in half and if not for a big save by Zach Moulton on a late breakaway the Flyers would have tied it. Trying to protect the 2-1 lead in the third period the Thunder got themselves in penalty trouble, and the penalty kill came up big, including the killing off a lengthy 5 on 3 with six minutes to play. With under two minutes to play Nick Molinaro gave the Thunder a much needed insurance goal by burying a shot from the high slot from Pries and Mackenzie Chalmers.

Halton Hills have a few days to prepare for an upcoming game with Caledon on Monday night 6:30pm at Alcott.
