The Trends/Alltro Minor Midget Thunder completed their sweep of Oakville last night 5-2 at Joshua Creek to claim the Tri-County Championship in three games.
It was Halton Hills eighth win in a row and 41st win of the season, in front of large crowd of enthusiastic Thunder supporters!!
Just as in previous games Oakville struck first scoring on a 2 on 1 less than two minutes into the game. The Ranger lead didn't last long as Halton Hills captain Stu McDonald, who was determined to win, tied the game a minute later with a quick shot blocker side on a surprized Ranger goaltender, from Jack Reid and Silvio Tedesco.

Thunder sniper Bryce Hillock scored with 9 second to play in regulation and scored again with 1 minute left in OT, to give Halton Hills a 5-4 OT win and a 2 games to 0 lead over Oakville in the Tri County Final. The line of Ben Mondou, Ethan Valade and Hillock was dominant combining for 4 goals and 9 points. Valade scored the first two Thunder goals and added an apple on Stu McDonalds goal that tied the game 3-3 midway through the third. Mondou had 4 helpers and was impressive in the faceoff circle going 12/2, but Hillock gets the honor of "filling the Botz" for his 2 clutch goals in the dying moments.
The two teams have six days off for March break before game three in Oakville on Sunday night.

The Halton Hills MMAA Thunder fell behind 2-0 four minutes into last nights Tri-County Final opener in Oakville. From that point on goaltender Josh Emmerson shut the door and Halton Hills chipped away, scoring 5 unanswered goals to take game 1, 5-2. Leading the way offensively with 2 goals was Thunder foreward Spencer Booth.
After Booth opened the scoring at the midway point of the first from Silvio Tedesco and Danny Cannon, Stu McDonald sniped his team leading 8th playoff goal from Cannon and Zach Booth to tie the score 2-2. Not long after Ben Mondou bagged what ended up being the "Gatorade goal" from Bryce Hillock and Tedesco. That made the score 3-2 Halton Hills at the intrermission.

AllTro Thunder sniper Bryce Hillock scored a natural hattrick to help eliminate rival Brampton, and advance Halton Hills to the TriCounty Championship.
After great goaltending on both sides kept the game scoreless in the first The 45's broke the deadlock with six minutes to play in the second just after a powerplay ended on a cross ice one timer that goalie Cody Hunter had no chance on.
With less than a minute to play in the second it was Hillocks line, with Ben Mondou and Ethan Valade controlled the puck down low before finding Bryce open in the slot, and he made no mistake, tying the game 1-1 heading to the third. Shots on goal after 2 periods were 18\17 Halton Hills, as the two teams prepared for the final frame.
