The Trends Minor Midgets started their first to six point series with Niagara Falls last night in Acton. Halton Hills were not ready to play and were forced to pick themselves up off the ice for most of the first period. Niagara took a well deserved 2-0 lead, outshooting, outworking and outmuscling the Thunder the entire period.
After the pre-game pizza and wing party wore off, Halton Hills put up some resistance in the second scoring twice to tie the game 2-2, first Nolan Cree from Justin Leblanc, then Ethan Valade on the PP, from Silvio Tedesco and Ben Mondou.
However Niagara regained the lead before the end of the second after a Halton Hills defensive zone breakdown.
In the third period Niagara checked Halton Hills well, limiting Thunder scoring chances and allowing only 4 shots.
