The Minor Midget wrapped up the regular season on Tuesday night in Acton with a 3-0 win over visiting Stoney Creek. Goaltender Zach Faria earned the shutout as the Thunder now prepare for the playoffs.
After a good showing in the Oakville tournament over Christmas Halton Hills are 4-2-1 in their last 7, and are a confident group heading into the preliminary round.

They open up the playoffs on Tuesday night at Alcott 9:00pm vs Stoney Creek.

After a 9-4. and 4-0 loss to Niagara and Brampton last week, Halton Hills headed to Burlington last night for a game with the Eagles. After taking an early 2-0 lead on the first shift with goals by Gavin Thompson and Stefan Moneypenny the Thunder got themselves in penalty trouble and were unable to hold the lead as Burlington came back to win 3-2.
The Thunder are back at it tonightat Alcott vs Garden City.

Thunder goaltender Spencer Mcpherson stopped all 31 Brampton shots in a 2-0 win last night at Alcott.  After a scoreless first period Matt Czekajlo scored what proved to be the winner, on a rebound, to put the Thunder up 1-0. Braydon Sloan with the assist.
Thunder sniper Jake Molinaro added an insurance goal three minutes into the third from Jacob Sutcliffe and Cameron Cherwaico. Halton Hills had to kill a couple late penalties, and Mcpherson had to come up with some big saves as the 45's pressured on the PP. The final few minutes the Thunder checked and frustrated Brampton as they protected the shutout for Mcpherson.

Thunder Foreward Gavin Thompson scored a hattrick last night at Alcott to help the Minor Midgets earn their first win of the regular season 4-2 over Burlington.
The Thunder game out pressing from the opening faceoff with numerous scoring chances but nothing to show for it as an opportunistic Burlington team scored twice in just over a minute to take the wind out of the Thunder sails, and a 2-0 first period lead. That would be All Burlington would get on this night as Halton Hills goaltender Spencer Mcpherson shut the door stopping the Eagles final 20 shots earning the Victory.

The Minor Midget AA Thunder were unable to hold a third period lead but earn a point with a 3-3 tie.  Mathew Czekajlo got the home squad off to a good start scoring his first of the season from Braydon Sloan and Stefan Moneypenny. After Guelph tied it 1-1 the same trio scored again, Sloan from Moneypenny and Czekajlo. After holding their first lead for less than a minute the Thunder managed to hold their second lead for five until Guelph scored to tie it 2-2 at the end of the second. Read More

The Minor Midgets had a rare Saturday night home game in Acton last night against Ancaster. After The Avalanche scored the opening goal 3:30 into the game Braden O'connell capitalized on a powerplay at 6:22, assisted by Andy Melo and Stefan Moneypenny. The Thunder then seemed to get their legs and had many scoring chances and odd man rushes, but were unable to beat the Avalanche goalie.  Ancaster scored twice in the final nine minutes of the second and took a 3-1 lead, and the wind out of Halton Hills sails. Last night, for the third straight game, the Minor Midget AA Thunder suffered a one goal loss. This time at the hands of the Milton Winterhawks 3-2 at Alcott. 
With 2 minutes left in the first period Andy Melo scored to give the home squad a 1-0 lead. It remained 1-0 until the Milton Captain turned a couple Thunder defence inside out walking out of the corner, and deeked backhand to beat the McPherson and tie the game 1-1. On the same Powerplay Stephan Moneypenny walked off the halfboards and scored glove side on the Milton netminder to restore the lead 2-1.
After a Thunder penalty Milton tied the game 2-2 on the pp with one minute left in the second. Read More
