Thunder earn point vs. Gryphons!
The Minor Midget AA Thunder were unable to hold a third period lead but earn a point with a 3-3 tie.  Mathew Czekajlo got the home squad off to a good start scoring his first of the season from Braydon Sloan and Stefan Moneypenny. After Guelph tied it 1-1 the same trio scored again, Sloan from Moneypenny and Czekajlo. After holding their first lead for less than a minute the Thunder managed to hold their second lead for five until Guelph scored to tie it 2-2 at the end of the second.

Both teams exchanged powerplay chances early in the third and both teams penalty kill were up to the challenge. At the end of a big kill, Andy Melo scored an unassisted goal to give Halton Hills the lead with 6 minutes to play. This time the lead was only held for 42 seconds as the Gryphons tied it once more. With 2 minutes left on the clock after a big hit by Ethan Constable Halton Hills were rewarded a powerplay, despite some late pressure and a couple good scoring chances the Guelph pk was able to hold and preserve the tie.
Foreward Jack Kennedy lead all Thunder players with 5 shots on goal and Goaltender Spencer Mcpherson had some great saves was busy stopping 23 of 26 shots to earn the point.

Still in search of that first victory The Thunder are back at it tomorrow night in Orangeville vs. the Flyers.
