Thunder lose 2-1 to Sabres
Still in search of their first win, the Minor Midgets battled hard but came up a little short vs Flamborough last night at Alcott. The home team got off to a good start with some offensive chances early in the first but were unable to capitalize. An opportunistic Flamborough team scored first, late in the opening period after a Thunder turnover resulted in a scramble in front, a lucky bounce and a gift empty net goal for the Sabres. Giving the visitors the 1-0 lead after one.
The goal seemed to set Halton Hills back on their heals for a good portion of the second until Ethan Constable evened the score 1-1 burying a backhand high glove side on the Sabre goalie after being set up nicely by Braydon Sloan and Andy Melo.

The tie was short lived as Halton Hills got pinned in their own end with an eventual pointshot that was deflected in front to give Flamborough the 2-1 lead at the intermission.
After the break Halton Hills came up with a spirited effort in the third period, but were unable to score. Final score Sabres 2 Halton Hills 1.

Next Game for the Thunder is Saturday night in Centre Wellington vs. the Fusion
