The Minor Atom AA Thunder enjoyed an on-ice practice session with the Toronto Maple Leafs Training staff yesterday at the Ricoh Coliseum. The AHL's Toronto Marlies home arena was filled with smiles and tired legs after the players were put through numerous drills to help develop each player's individual skill set. It was a great way to end a fun and successful 2015-2016 season. Thanks to all the Thunder families that voted for our team so the players could experience this once in a lifetime opportunity.

After a great year on and off the ice, the Minor Atom AA Thunder finished off the season with a year end fun game with the players competing hard against their grandfathers, brothers, cousins and fathers. The game was full of exciting plays, beautiful goals and amazing saves. The players, coached by a handful of Thunder mom's was able to score the last goal to tie the game. From the start to the end of the year, the boys made strong friendships, worked hard every time they hit the ice and had fun on and off the ice. Thanks for great year!

After practice last Tuesday, the Minor Atom AA Thunder team visited the Georgetown Bread Basket to donate over 350 non-perishable food items. The Thunder players learned about giving back to the community through the "TINS FOR WINS" program that began back in September. After each win this season, the players would go into their pantry and put one non-perishable food item into their Green Bin. The Minor Atom AA team had a total of 21 wins in tournaments, exhibition games, league play and the first round of the OMHA Playoffs so each player donated 21 "TINS FOR THOSE WINS." Thanks for all the Thunder families for participating in this worthwhile cause, the Food Bank appreciated all the food.

Prior to Sunday's game in Oakville, the Minor Atom AA Thunder and Rangers teamed up to help the Oakville Food Bank. Both teams brought non-perishable food items to the Joshua Creek Arena and came together for a group photo to show off all the food that was collected. Both teams showed the true spirit of sportsmanship by coming together to help give back to the community.
