Thunder lose close one in Fergus!
Still in search of their first win the Halton Hills Thunder headed to Fergus last night for a Saturday night game with the Fusion. With 2 minutes to play in the first period Thunder captain Andy Melo gave Halton Hills the lead from Jake Molinaro and Liam Burgoyne. The Fusion tied it up early in the second with a short handed goal, then on the same powerplay Dawson Lirette scored from Stefan Moneypenny to make it 2-1, and Jacob Sutcliffe scored from Liam Burgoyne to put the Thunder up by 2 at the midway point of the game. Under a minute later a pesky Center Wellington team climbed back to within one, after winning faceoff they scored on a point shot seven seconds into a powerplay. The Thunder Held a 3-2 lead heading to the third.

The third period went back and forth with both teams getting scoring chances until a Fusion point shot that went wide of the net came off the lively boards to a Wellington Foreward who scored in the empty net. Shortly after thunder foreward Ethan Constable skated down the wing and snapped a shot short side on the Wellington Goalie to regain the lead.
Halton Hills scoring a season high four goals wasn't enough as a center wellington foreward won a battle behind the net and quickly scored on a wraparound to tie the game at four. Then after the Thunder took an offensive zone penalty the Fusion scored the winner on the powerplay with 2:35 to play.
The Thunder didn't quit as Melo and company had chances with the goalie out but time ran out and they came up one goal short, losing a heart breaker 5-4.
