After a great year on and off the ice, the Atom
AA Thunder finished off the season with a year-end party at Laser Quest. What made this event even more meaningful was
the fact that the team won this party due to one of our penalty free games
during the regular season.
Thanks to everyone for their help this season;
including all the coaches and the social committee for making the season fun as
well as the parents in getting the boys to practices and games especially through
accidents and bad weather and supporting our charitable events.
From the start to the end of the year, the
boys made strong friendships, worked hard every time they hit the ice and had
fun on and off the ice. Thanks again to all for a fun year.

Back in November the Atom AA Thunder Team
started their Hockey Fights Cancer campaign.
The team had chosen Cancer Assistance Services Halton Hills as their
charity. CAS Halton Hills is a community based organization that provides hope
and support to Cancer patients, family and friends. All of their services are
provided free of charge and funded through donations. All of the money donated
stays in the Halton Hills Community.
Each player on the team had a jar and contributed a Toonie for every regular
season win and a Loonie for every tie. The team raised a total of $420.00. These funds will be deposited in the team
bank account this week and a cheque will be written from the team account to
CAS Halton Hills.

The Atom AA Thunder finished the regular season with a
4-1 win over the Burlington Eagles Blue to finish in 9th place in the 13 Team
Atom AA Bowman Division. The Thunder are now preparing to start the OMHA Playdowns
in a 4 team group that also includes Burlington Gold, Garden City and Brampton.
You will notice the boys all have blue tape on their sticks
for the playoffs. Coach Rob has purchased this tape for the team to show
team solidarity as we move into the OMHA’s. We will have blue tape at our first game for anyone who needs it. If your players stick is not
taped blue please see one of the Coaches or Trainers.

Happy New Year Thunder Families.
The Coaches and Trainers would like to introduce a new Pregame Warmup to the players for the upcoming playoffs. The video of what we are going to be doing can be found under "quick links" on the right hand side of the team website. Just click on the image of Gary Roberts to review the video. If you have a moment kindly review the video with your player so they have an introduction to this new warm-up.

Thank you to all for coming to the team party.
It's so amazing that we had an opportunity to celebrate Christmas together at
this busy time of year. There was a ton of
effort put into costumes and the food.
Congratulations to our big winners of the night; Kieran, Brad and Maggie - you
all embraced your inner Surfing Santa! Great participation by all families made voting a winner extremely difficult. A special thanks to Coach Sean, Barbara and Blake for hosting.
Have a safe and happy holiday season Thunder Families!!
