Hockey Fights Cancer
Hockey Fights Cancer™ is an initiative founded in December 1998 by the National Hockey League and the National Hockey League Players' Association to raise money and awareness for hockey's most important fight. The Hockey Fights Cancer initiative is supported by the National Hockey League Foundation, the NHL Foundation, players, NHL Member Clubs, NHL Alumni, the NHL Officials' Association, Professional Hockey Trainers and Equipment Managers.

The Atom AA Thunder has chosen Cancer Assistance Services Halton Hills as their charity this season. CAS Halton Hills is a community based organization that provides hope and support to Cancer patients, family and friends. All of their services are provided free of charge and funded through donations. All of the money donated stays in the Halton Hills Community.
Each player on the team has a jar and contributes a Toonie for every regular season win and a Loonie for every tie. All of the money will be donated to CAS Halton Hills at the end of the season.
To bring attention to the cause the boys joined the NHL/NHLPA Hockey Fights Cancer movement by taping their sticks with Lavender tape and filling out I Fight For signs to support friends and family affected by Cancer on November 3rd and throughout our tournament the weekend of the 4th. The colour Lavender represents the battle against all forms of Cancer.
Thank you to West Star Athletics for their donation of 12 rolls of Lavender tape.
