Thunder d-men score twice in third to edge Warriors!
The Sunny Acre Farms Midgets got 2 third period goals from the defense to edge Stoney Creek 3-2 Last night at Alcott. After falling behind 2-0 Tyler Skilling scored from Dawson Lirette to cut the lead in half. Despite Halton Hills hitting a couple posts and a crossbar late in the second the Warriors still held on to the 2-1 lead at the intermission.
Midway through the third period Braydon O'Connell tied the game 2-2 with a perfect shot just inside the post from Skilling and Curtis Boven. Then with 4:10 to play Gavin Thomson centered the puck from behind the net to Mathew McDonough who bagged the winner, Jeremy Roach with the second assist.
The win was Halton Hills fourth in a row as they climbed back to the 500 mark at 8-8-5. Next up for the Thunder is a Sunday game at Alcott vs Niagara Falls.
