Thunder come up short in Stoney Creek!
The Sunny Acre Farms Midgets battled hard in Stoney Creek last night but came up a little short losing 3-2. The hometown Warriors started fast taking a two goal first period lead over the seemingly tired Halton Hills team who were playing on back to back nights. Some undisciplined play by the Warriors got them in penalty trouble and after two powerplay goals by Dylan Sargent the two teams went into the second period flood tied at two. Assists going to Keegan Martinec, Mitchell Tickner, and Matt Simpson (2).
Midway through the final period Stoney Creek took the lead, and held off a late fleury by Halton Hills to win the contest 3-2.
The Thunder have a couple days off before an important game in Fergus on Sunday at 5:00 pm vs. Centre Wellington.
