Halton Hills Thunder Atom AE Brings Home the Gold
The Halton Hills Thunder Atom AE team battled against 9
other teams to bring home the Gold in the Peterborough Thanksgiving Challenge.
After a tough four game round robin, the Thunder advanced to the Semi-finals against the Waterloo Wolves.
The Thunder came out hard and was able to grind out a well-earned 2-1 victory. Every member of the team did a great job passing and defending. The Thunder took their grit, tenacity and a desire to win into the finals where they faced a very strong Kitchener Jr. Ranger’s team. The Thunder got 2 quick goals in the first period and the stingy, tight checking defense and great goaltending did the rest. Kitchener came back with a goal late in the game and started to gain some momentum, however, the Thunder came back with one final goal and held on for the championship. Final score 3 – 1. Way to go Thunder Atom AE!
