BELLE RIVER CHAMPIONS
The Tyke 1 Thunder travelled to Belle River, Ontario to participate in the 13th Annual Randy Merten/Dan Holland Memorial Hockey Tournament. After an undefeated Round Robin the Thunder stood 1st out of 8 teams. All the players continued to work hard to win the quarter finals 11-1 over the Orangeville Flyers. In the semi-finals the Thunder played against the Innisfil Winter Hawks and defeated them 9-1. Four hours later the Thunder faced the Barrie Jr. Colts and won a hard fought championship game 1-0. The Thunder deserved to bring the Banner and gold medals home because of hard work, determination and perseverance.
Congrats to our fellow Thunder Novice AE team who played right after us and defeated Windsor 4-1.
