HHMH Return to Hockey Update

To All Our Halton Hills Minor Hockey Families,

With the current Covid trend and the provincial changes to protocols, there are still a few unknowns for us to get HHMH players back to the ice. HHMH is working with the Town of Halton Hills on a return to hockey plan which has left the decision placed with the Town to provide HHMH additional ice. With the Region being placed in the red zone, this has pushed us back to stage 1 under the OHF Return to Hockey Protocols; maximum number of participants on the ice is 10, including coaches and at a development stage.

With the current capacity allowed on the ice, we require more ice to accommodate all House-league, IP and Rep players. We have requested for the Town to open the Fernbrook pad or find more ice for HHMH as of January 4th or sooner to allow us to continue with a quality program for all. That being said, the Town has advised that they will inform us by November 27th if our ice requirements will be met. If we are able to add the additional ice required, HHMH will resume Saturday November 28th through to December 20th.

If our ice requirements are met for January 4th, 2021 with adding the additional ice requirements;

·         We would put a rotational schedule in place up to Dec 20th.

·         As of January 4th, we would resume a weekly team schedule.

Keeping in mind, this plan is based on receiving the ice requirements we need for our entire program (HL, IP and REP).

HHMH Board of Directors will be meeting again this week for a final update to all members Friday evening. Our planning will include; the ice requirements being met, current provincial decisions i.e. lockdown and what zone the Region of Halton may be in.

We wish we were able to provide a solid plan to you all today; however we continue to remain optimistic and focused to getting our players back to the ice in the safest way possible for all!

Thank you, to all for your continued patience and support!

Be safe!

Yours in Hockey,

HHMH Executive
