Return to Hockey update

Dear Members,

We have been challenged with many changes and unknowns over the past few weeks.  With the number of Covid-19 cases that have increased in Ontario, we have been advised by The Town of Halton Hills, that based on the recommendation of The Chief Medical Officer of Health (CMOH) for the Region of Halton - all scrimmage and game play for team sports indoors will be temporarily suspended. We are required to alter our stage 2 return to hockey plan from modified games back to on-ice development.

HHMH will move forward as planned with teams and cohorts for stage 2.  Teams on the ice will be maxed at 20 players and will be ready to start modified games once we are approved.

All cohorts have been organized and below are start times and when you can expect to hear from your team coach:

Rep season for Stage 2 begins Friday October 23rd, coaches will email by Sunday October 18th

House-league season for stage 2 begins Friday October 30th, coaches will email by Sunday October 24th,

IP – begins Sunday November 1st, coaches will email by Monday October 19th

There will be a financial update being sent to each player’s email to advise all payment details in the next few days. HHMH will run with a 4 week plan while we wait to be approved for modified games.  In the event we have not received the approval for modified games after the 4 weeks, we will continue with on-ice development.

It is important we note; our Return to Hockey committee has worked very hard to get our teams back on the ice and we are excited that we are able to return in some form of the game we all love. Our coaches are prepared to continue working on player and goalie skills and have been continually working through the challenges this season has brought them with an open mind and an open heart!  We are very appreciative of our coaches for their continued hard work. We understand this is not what the players, parents and coaches were looking forward to in stage 2 – but we must remain patient and know that we will get back to the competitive side of the game very soon.

Stay safe everyone!

Yours in Hockey,

HHMH Return To Hockey Executive Committee
