Tournament Rules
(Applies to Novice-Juvenile)
Round Robin
All preliminary games are Round Robin format and points awarded for wins and ties. Overtime rules do not apply until the Consolation/Championship Games on December 30th.
Post Round Robin Tie-breakers:
After round robin play, tie-breakers to move onto Championship/Consolation are as follows:
1. Head to Head, then if still tied:
2. Most Wins, then if still tied:
3. Goal Differential calculated as follows:
(Goals For) ÷ (Goals For + Goals Against) with the number closest to 1 the winner, then if still tied:
4. Least penalty minutes, then if still tied:
5. Coin Flip (Done by Convenor, Director or VP)
Overtime for Consolation and Championship Games (Dec 30th games only)
1. If a game is tied after regulation time there will be a 4 minute stop time, Sudden Victory Overtime, 3 ON 3 with 1 minute buzzer . All players will receive 1 shift before any may play another shift. No double shifting at any time!

2. If the game is still tied a shootout will then take place with each coach designating 5 players (who have not played in previous round, until all have participated) to shoot in a penalty shot format. Total goals of the 5 shots will determine the winner. All 5 shots will be taken unless there is a clear victor. Both teams will shoot at the same time.
3. If the score is still tied each coach will designate 5 more players and the shootout will continue as a sudden victory shootout until one team scores and the other does not. All decisions made by the tournament committee are final.
