OMHA Vaccination Policy
Dear HHMH Members,

As the season quickly approaches, HHMH is preparing for a close to normal hockey season for the upcoming 2021-22 year. With representative hockey starting as early as September 7th for specific age groups and house-league starting on September 24th, HHMH remains focused on providing a competitive and fun season ahead. The planning has not been left without its challenges during this pandemic.

With the OMHA’s vaccine announcement on Friday, a vaccine policy has been introduced that requires all participants born in 2009 or before to be fully vaccinated by October 31st in order to participate in OMHA-sanctioned hockey events. "Fully vaccinated" by their definition is a completed series of an accepted COVID-19 vaccine, plus 14 days.

It is clear that this new requirement will apply to all players born in 2009 or earlier, team officials (Coaches, Trainers and Managers), game officials (referees, lines-persons, timekeepers), HHMH Board of Directors and staff, and volunteers serving in any other capacity such as on-ice helpers. We are currently working through the means by which this information will be collected from our participants in advance of the deadline and we will share our process once we have completed our review of the policy.

Currently, the OMHA policy does not apply to hockey players born in 2010 or later, or to hockey spectators.  That said we are working with the Town of Halton Hills to understand how the recently announced provincial vaccine passport will be implemented at their facilities and how it may affect access for our members and their families. Once we have clarification regarding this matter, we will pass the information on to our membership. In the meantime, in partnership with the Town we request that you read through our Return to Hockey Protocols that are attached to this letter to ensure a safe entry to all facilities.

HHMH respects the privacy and personal decisions of our membership and understands this information may affect some of our hockey families. Please visit the OMHA website for full details on the vaccine policy. Our HHMH Refund Policy can be found here.

We thank you for your continued support and patience while we work towards a safe and healthy hockey season.
