2nd Place Finish
Over the weekend of September 29th, our U13BB travelled to Newmarket for the Newmarket Early Bird Tournament.
The team came out of the gate during the first game of the tournament with a strong win, 3-1, against the Newmarket Renegades. A short rest between the first and second game and the team was back at the rink vs the Upper York Admirals. They fought hard during the first period and scored 2 goals in the last 30 seconds of the period. The team was able to keep the Admirals at bay and scored 1 in the second and 1 in third to win 4-0.
The second day was an early start and the team came out strong to battle against the Garden City Falcons with a win of 3-1. Unfortunately their winning streak came to an end later in the day when the London Bandits came out for a win of 4-1.
Rounding out round robin the team was in a 3 way tie and it came down to 0.71% difference between Halton and Garden City to push us into the final and another chance to take the win over London.
Coaches rallied the team, pumped them up and they hit the ice strong but unfortunately they were not able to get out from under their hold losing the Championship 3-0.
The parents and coaches were all very proud of how the team showed up and they should be proud to finish 2nd in the Newmarket Early Bird Tournament.
