Tough Start Continues For Minor Midgets
Last night, for the third straight game, the Minor Midget AA Thunder suffered a one goal loss. This time at the hands of the Milton Winterhawks 3-2 at Alcott.
With 2 minutes left in the first period Andy Melo scored to give the home squad a 1-0 lead. It remained 1-0 until the Milton Captain turned a couple Thunder defence inside out walking out of the corner, and deeked backhand to beat the McPherson and tie the game 1-1. On the same Powerplay Stephan Moneypenny walked off the halfboards and scored glove side on the Milton netminder to restore the lead 2-1.
After a Thunder penalty Milton tied the game 2-2 on the pp with one minute left in the second.
Both teams exchanged pp chances in the third, and both teams penalty kill did their jobs. As in Saturday nights game the Thunder surrendered the winning goal with under two minutes to play.
Still in search of that first win the team will Host Ancaster on Saturday night in Acton.
