Irish South Bend Cup Champions!!!!
The Halton Hills Thunder Minor Peewee A team recently traveled to the historic campus of the University of Notre Dame to participate in the Irish South Bend Cup.
The Thunder started the tournament strong with a 7-2 victory over the Muskegon Jr Jacks. In their second game they faced a quick skating Burlington Eagles Blue team and came up just short with a 4-3 loss. In Game 3, they defeated the Cazenovia Chiefs 9-2 which setup a rematch with Burlington in the finals.
Playing on the same ice surface that they had watched Notre Dame play on the night before, it was another very closely contested match and the teams were tied 2-2 at the end of regulation time. In overtime, Connor Brown would be the hero at the 1:20 mark to seal a 3-2 Thunder victory.
