OMHA Champions!
The Halton Hills Thunder Atom AE added yet another accomplishment to their amazing season by capturing the OMHA Championship on Sunday night.

The Thunder defeated the Aurora Tigers 4-3 to take the best of 5 series 3 games to 1.  After winning the first 2 games 2- 0 and 5-2 respectively, the Thunder were poised to sweep the series in Aurora on Friday night. However, the Tigers were not willing to go down without a fight, managing to squeak out a 2-1 overtime win, sending the teams back to Georgetown for game 4.  It was there, in front of a packed Alcott Arena, that the Thunder would play one of their best games of the season – twice battling back from a 1 goal deficit, they finally pulled ahead, briefly leading 4-2, until the Tigers made it 4-3 heading into the third period.  It was a tough, closely fought third period, as Aurora did everything they could to find the equalizer, but the Thunder stood tall and defended relentlessly.  Even with the goalie pulled, the Tigers could not find their way to the net.  The Thunder cleared the zone as the last seconds ticked off the clock and the celebration began with Atom AE Thunder being declared OMHA Champions!

Below is a list of the Team's overall accomplishments:

Tournaments: In October the team traveled to Peterborough where they won the Peterborough Thanksgiving Tournament.  In December they traveled to Chatham where they won all six of their games to take the Chatham Regional Silver Stick - qualifying them to compete in the International Silver Stick. In January, they traveled to Pelham where they competed against teams from North America, finishing as semi-finalist.
