Canada Strikes Gold!
Friends and family of the Halton Hills Thunder Minor Atom A gathered together for a hearty breakfast of eggs, pancakes... and GOLD!
The gathering of almost 40 people slurped down juice and coffee while cheering on the home team. Our group displayed an impressive collection of Team Canada gear and everyone was covered in Team Canada tattoos (thanks Julia and Abby!). The party erupted as time ticked down and the victory was secured, followed by a rousing rendition of the Canadian anthem!
Canada took on Sweden for the gold medal game on Sunday February 23rd. Sidney Crosby, Jonathan Toews and Chris Kunitz scored for the Canadians, and Carey Price earned a shutout during Canada's 3-0 victory.
The gold medal game also brought our team Olympic Hockey Pool to a close with Coach Ed finishing in first and Wyatt the top scorer among the boys. The pool was close until the very end and everyone had a great time along the way!
Thanks to everyone who turned out for the event - another opportunity for the team to bond and an example of the fun we have had together this season. And thanks to Team Canada for making us proud yet again!
