Best of the Best Tournament
The McNally Limited Halton Hills Thunder participated in their second tournament of the season, the Best of the Best, held in our own backyard over Thanksgiving weekend.
The Minor Atom A tournament consisted of seven teams from across Ontario including a few from the Tri-County League.
On day one the team faced the Milton Winterhawks and Fort Erie Meteors. The Thunder showed a strong work ethic by hustling at both ends of the ice. With the help of tight defense, strong goaltending and timely scoring the team tied their first two games of the tournament 2-2 and 1-1 respectively.
Day two brought on a tough challenge, with the team facing the Cambridge Hawks in Erin. The team would go down to defeat against the eventual finalist.
On the final day of the tournament the Thunder faced the Cumberland Jr. Grads. The Thunder returned to their hard-working ways and pulled off a 4-0 victory.
The Thunder finished the tournament with a 1-1-2 record and in a tie for 4th place.
