Submit to the Board of directors a final report. for each tournament stating number of teams entered, income, from team entries incomr from gate(if any) income frpm programs, income from other sources. detailed expenses, profit or loss, recomendations.
Negotiate with town and officials to secure enough ice time and officials to run a successful tournament.
Pay all bills incured by the tournament committee. |

Fund Raising Committee |

Objective: Organize and administer all fundraising activities of the HHMH as approved by the Board of Directors
Reports To: Board of Directors.Chairperson: Director of Fund raising
Members: As appointed by the Chairperson and approved by the Board of Directors.
Duties: Establish a sub-committee to operate each fundraising event.
Keep up-to-date records of all business (minutes of meetings, correspondence, etc.)
Appoint a treasurer who will be one of the signing officers of the committee along with the Chairperson.
The treasurer pays all the bills by cheque and keeps financial records of the committee.

Objective: Organize and administer banquet for all Rep. teams at the end 0f the hockey season.

Members: President Vice President Rep. directors of AA, A, AE Rep Hockey Trophy Committee Chairperson, members appointed by the chairpersonn.
Duties: Book and pay for location. Orde food and drink, as well as cutlery, napkins, table covers, decorations as necessary
Set up the location with tables and chairs for all teams plus a head table. set up a sound system
Ensure that volunteers are in place to help with food distribution and clean up.
Ensure the award winners are selected and appropriate trophies are engraved and organized for presentation

Duties: To ensure notification calling for nominations is publicized according to HHMH By-Laws

Parent Liaison |

A team meeting must be convened to elect the team parent liaison. The president shall appoint a member of the Board of Directors to chair this meeting of the appointment.The parent liaison?s name, address, phone number, and postal code must be given to the Secretary. To be a signing member for all team Cheques from the team account. |

To Liaise with parents to bring concerns to coaching staff (taking into account 24 hour rule) and to Liaise with the Board of Directors and bring any concerns to the Board of Directors.. |

Discipline Governing Players and Coaching Staff |
|
The Following will be immediately dealt with by the Director and/or Convener: A participant who is believed to be under the influence of alcohol or drugs. A participant using profane language in or around the arena directly to or at any Team Official, Director, Spectators, or other Players. A penalty assessed during a game by the participating referee, resulting in a participant being ejected from the game, shall be reviewed by the Director when requested by the Convener. For reference to the Disciplinary Committee. Conduct injurious to the HHMH philosophy. The Director or Convener will have the right to suspend players for any of the above.These may be dealt further by the Discipline Committee.

APPEAL PROCEDURE |
|
Any member of the HHMH having been recipient of disciplinary action by the Discipline Committee,Director, or Convener, shall have the right to appeal to the Core Executive Committee. Such appeal will be made in writing to the President within 48 hours of the pertinent action. The appeal shall be accompanied by an appeal fee as decided by the Board of directors. If the appeal is successful, the fee is to be returned. If the decision is upheld, the fee shall be paid to HHMH. Those appealing decisions or actions will be required to appear before the Executive Committee at the appeal hearing and are expected to supply his or her own defense. The appeal hearing will be held within 7 days of appeal.

Any team wanting to use HHMH or a HHMH team name for fundraising purposes must receive approval, in writing, from the Director of Fundraising and submit a team budget. |

APPLICATIONS FOR COACHING STAFF SELECTION |

Application for coaches must be advertised in local newspapers and HHMH web site. All head coaches will be selected by the Coaches Selection Committee on the basis of criteria presented to this committee.
All rep. team coaches must have at least minimum certification as per OMHA regulations. It is recommended that all house league coaches have minimum certification under OMHA rules. Rep. team coaches will be selected two weeks before the first Try-out. All house league teams will have a selected coach and manager, minimum. All house league coaches will be selected by a date to be determined by the Board of Directors. All rep. teams will be staffed as per OMHA rules.

Halton Hills Minor Hockey Policy Police Checks
|
|
Halton Hills Minor Hockey Association (HHMH) accepts its significant responsibility with respect to all members and especially the hockey players (vulnerable clients) that participate in our hockey program.
HHMH recognizes that some of the positions in the organization are of significant trust. People applying for and undertaking positions of trust will be subject to more intensive initial and ongoing screening and Supervision.
HHMH owes a duty of care to its members, to its staff, and to the community.
This duty shall be reflected in all Organization programs, services, and activities, as well as in our Policies and procedures. Individuals in placements, which are not position of trust. HHMH will not discriminate against any person on the basis of these grounds (age, race, sex, marital status, etc.) unless there is a bona fide reason related essentially and explicitly to the position being applied for , and will do so with due consideration for the need to accommodate applicants where possible. For certain positions in HHMH, a Police Record Check will be required as one element of the screening process. In general individuals with past Criminal Code convictions,
ten years old or more recent or charges pending for certain offences will not be accepted for a direct service position with vulnerable clients. these offences include, but are not limited to, the following:

Physical or sexual assault (no time limit), Sexual exploitation (no time limit) ,Invitation to sexual touching (no time limit) ,Sexual interference (no time limit)
(criminal offences involving sexual exploitation, invitation to sexual touching etc. are treated under section 1.11.4 of the OMHA Manual of Operations.
The offences considered unforgivable regardless of pardon. Time limit will be at the discretion of the executive based on the circumstances)
Current prohibitions or probation orders forbidding the individual to have contact with children under the age of 14 (no time limit)
Indictable criminal offenses for child abuse (no time limit) Outstanding convictions or charges pending for criminal driving offences, including but not
limited to impaired driving. Specifically the HHMH is looking at two or more criminal driving convictions in the past three years.
individuals with outstanding convictions (eight years old or more recent), for provincial offences related to a bona fide occupational requirement or qualification may be excluded from a
position of trust, depending on the circumstances).Intent to traffic or trafficking in illegal substances. Possession or other illegal substance convictions.
Applicants may be rejected as a result of other information gained during the police records check process or through the screening process as a whole, or as a consequence of other factors.
The applicant has the right to know why he or she is being refused, and may appeal to the Board of Directors in writing for a review of their record.

It should be noted that every staff member or volunteer once accepted, is obliged to inform the appropriate HHMH Executive, if he or she is charged, tried or convicted of any offences
under the Criminal code or under other provincial or federal statues, if the offence is relative to a position of trust held by the individual.

Procedure

(a) A player incurring a "Game Ejection" penalty in accordance with Rule 28(f) - Minor Penalties, shall be ordered to the dressing room for the remainder of the game. |

(b) A player, or team official incurring a "Game Misconduct Penalty" shall be ordered to the dressing room for the remainder of the game and shall be reported to the President for further action. A substitute for the penalized player shall be permitted immediately. |

In Minor and Female Hockey, in the last ten minutes of a game (regular playing time including overtime), any player or team official who is assessed a Game Misconduct shall automatically be suspended for a minimum of the next regular league/play-off game or seven days. |

A total of ten minutes shall be charged in the records against the penalized player for a Game Misconduct. This means a player cannot stand by the boards and watch the remainder of the game. If the Player dresses in street clothes, and sits in the stands and takes no further part with any players still in the game then probably he, should be allowed to leave the dressing room and watch the game from the stands. It is also not safe to leave a player in the dressing room in some arenas unattended by a team official. It is the Managers or designates responsibility to meet the player and stand by near the dressing room until the player is dressed in street clothes. The player is then ushered to a spot in the stands where he will be safe. The rational Because of ongoing altercations between players that have been ejected from the game by the game officials. |

The Vice President of House league Hockey will refer the matter to the Discipline Committee.

HOUSE LEAGUE PLAYER DRAFT PROCEDURE. |
|
The Draft is to be held on a date set by the V.P House League. All registered players are to be classified by age group using birth date as specified by the OMHA. Goaltenders are drafted first until each team has one or more goaltenders. Draft will be overseen and controlled by the Vice President of House League, Directors of House League, or Conveners.Only coaches, managers, or Conveners or designates will be allowed to draft.
At time of draft. Each Director will provide to his coaches and managers, a copy of a numbered list showing all registered players for the age group by name, grading information, and position played. Protected players (rep. team lists) will not be drafted. Coaches will draw by lot to establish the order of choice. First team, by number, gets First choice of players. Draft selection rotation is as follows: Team 1 through 8, the Team 8 through 1, the Team 1 through 8, etc. All players are to be distributed ensuring evenly.If the division is comprised of two age groups, (minor and major), the Director would have two separate lists prepared for distribution to the coaches and managers. The youngest age group would be drafted First At the completion, the Director would satisfy himself that each team is approximately equal to any other division team in total ability. In the event that some teams are short a player compared to some other division teams, the Director will add late registrants. The coach and/or manager shall fill in their team roster multiple copy form by listing their players alphabetically. The Director, in developing his draft list, should identify and consider players who wish to play on the same team, if possible. The Director shall ensure that the list of protected players from rep. teams are deleted from the draft lists. These protected players lists will be available from the Director of Rep. Hockey at least three days before the draft.

GENERAL RULES. HOUSE LEAGUE |

The ideal roster per team is 16 players. Enforcement of this regulation will be conditional upon total registration for the season depending upon available ice time. |

If, prior to the November 30th balancing deadline, for any reason, a team roster should fall more the three players below establishment. the responsible Convener shall be notified by the coach, and the Convener and director shall arrange transfer from other teams within the series to bring the undermanned team roster back to established minimum.

Should the other teams within the series be at, or near, the roster minimum, the Convener shall be empowered to draw players from the late registration pool, if such a pool exists. |

Should any team, for any valid reason, be unable to dress a goaltender, The Convener must First satisfy himself of the necessity for such a replacement and assign a replacement. This procedure must be followed for each game that a replacement goaltender is required. Failure to comply with the regulation will result in automatic forfeiture of the game in question.

Balancing of House League teams shall be done by League Conveners, in consultation with the Director of Junior/Senior House League and the Vice President of House league. |

Balancing Shall be defined as the movement of players from team to team to ensure fairness and competitive play for all players and teams. Players shall be moved to a different team if league officials determine this will improve balance of the league. All decisions regarding balancing shall be final. The balancing deadline shall be November 30th.

Coaches must notify the Convener if, without reason, a player misses three consecutive games. |

All players must report to their dressing room at least 15 minutes before a game or the coach can refuse to dress him for the game. |

If two goaltenders are dressed, each will play half the game. |

Any player or team official under suspension cannot participate with his team as per OMHA rules. |
