2017-2018 Minor Midget AA Early Bird Champions
The Trendz Minor Midget AA Thunder got off to a great start going 6-0-0 in The Kawartha Lakes Tournament. Goaltending and team defence was key as The Thunder only surrendered 6 goals in the tournament.

Game 1 : Halton Hills 4, West Mall 2
Game 2 : Halton Hills 1, Burlington Blue 0
Game 3 : Halton Hills 2, Peterborough 1
Game 4 : Halton Hills 4, Georgina 1



Finishing first in heir division put the Thunder up against last years tournament, and defending OMHA Champion Garden City. It was a close game that had Halton Hills tie it up with five minutes to play and force a shootout. Thunder netminder Cody Hunter stopped 5 of seven shooters while Halton Hills scored three times Nick Theim, Ben Mondou and Spencer Booth getting the winner.
Final Score Halton Hills 3, Garden City 2

After Peterborough knocked off Kitchener in the other semi final the rematch was set. Halton Hills had lots left in the tank as they kept on the attack, but were unable to score on the Peterborough Netminder. Scoreless after 2 periods until finally Dylan Verboon picked up a loose puck and gave Halton Hills the third period lead. Goaltender Josh Emmerson made a couple timely saves late and held on for his second shutout. 
Final Score Halton Hills 1, Peterborough 0
